Murphy's Laws of Marching Band

  1. Straight lines aren't.
  2. The loudness of the VLB is inversely proportional to what they have written in there music.
  3. The loudness of the Tenor Saxes is always double what they have written in their music, except for ppp, then it's triple.
  4. The loudness of the trumpets is always fff.
  5. The first performance of cadence at a game will always be screwed up.
  6. Drill-downs will always come down to a 4-year marcher and a rookie.
  7. Murphy was a Tenor Saxophonist.
  8. If the director says s/he'll get drill to you so many weeks before a performance, s/he'll get it to you that many DAYS before the performance, music too.
  9. The Trumpet Section leader can either make it to his spot in 4 or 40 counts.
  10. If the clarinets are drilled in the front, they won't stay there for long and they'll never see it again.
  11. Color guarders always run into snare drummers, flute players and Clarinetists.
  12. The closeness the Alto Saxes and the Clarinets are to the front sideline is proportional to how high their note is.
  13. The only person in the Drum Line to be at attention is the guy with the BIG Bass Drum.
  14. Their will always be one brass player who says he or she doesn't have the time to march in the band, but manages to show up to every single rehearsal and performance.
  15. It always rain the week of band camp.
  16. The drum line looks like they're slacking even when they're at attention.
