Night Watch

Ben-Gali rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. He hated being on Night Watch. Nothing ever happened on Night Watch. Nobody would attack the Cat's Lair. Besides, the Auto Defenses could handle any intruder that was brave enough, or stupid enough to attack the heaviest defended building on New Thundera.
He could have been on an a date with Pumrya tonight, but voluteenered to take Tygra's shift because he had to go to the Dedication of the Snarf University in Carhall. He should have told him no, but it was to late for that. If he was gonna be here all night, he might as well catch a quick cat nap.
The harsh sound of the warning klackon's awoke Ben-Gali from his slumber. Some one was trying to break into the Cat's Lair. Ben-Gali ran got up and ran to the Security Station. After several moments of typing, the Auto- Security had found the intruder; it was in the Motor Pool. Of all of the places to find a intruder, this was the worst. There was enough fire-power in their to level most of Thundera City.
Ben-Gali grabbed the Hammer of Thundera and ran towards the stairs. He didn't want to risk having the Rob- Lifts being sabotage. As he raced down the stars, Ben-Gali started to think of who the trespasser could be. The Mutants and the Lunitacs were all locked up and MummRa was dead. It could be Thunderan Rebels; many thunderans were not happy with the Lion-O's new Democratic style government and wanted the old order back.
Ben-Gali got to the bottom of the stairs and quietly made his way inside the Motor Pool. The Motor Pool was a large warehouse built under the Cat's Lair that stored all of the ThunderCat's heavy weapons and vehicles. Along with the vehicles, many large crates filled the room, giving many places for an intruder to hide.
Ben-Gali hid behind the Thunder Tank and looked around. The light was coming in at the end of the Motor Pool; the garage door was open! He had to close it before anybody else could get in here.
Ducking behind a crate, Ben-Gali was slow but surely making his way to the Master Controls. Ducking behind another crate, got his first glimpse of the intruder. Standing at the Master Controls was a man about as tall has Ben-Gali was, wearing a black body suit that covered his entire body. In a holster at his hip was some form of pistol; Ben-Gali couldn't tell if it was a Slug Thrower or an Energy Weapon. The man had a Micro-Computer plugged into the main Data Terminal.
Ben-Gali readied the Hammer of Thundera and lugged at the intruder. The intruder, hearing Ben-Gali's approach, spun around and sucker punched him in the gut. Ben-Gali staggered back, still reeling from the blow.
"A ThunderCat, eh?" mused the intruder. "I gonna to make an example of you," he pulled his pistol, "Don't mess with..."
While he gloated, Ben-Gali swung the Hammer at his hand, making him drop the pistol. Ben-Gali then followed up with an elbow to the gut and a foot to the shin. As the Intruder fell backwards, Ben-Gali kicked the pistol away. Ben-Gali started to approach the masked man when he tripped Ben-Gali and jumped onto his chest.
"Sweet dreams, noble," said the intruder, his words lined with sarcasm. He touched the back of his hand and a gas was released into Ben-Gali's face. Then his world went back.......

    "Ben-Gali! Ben-Gali, wake up!"
Ben-Gali sat up slowly, still a little sore from his battle earlier that night. Crouching nearby was Wily Kat and Panthro. "What happened?"
"As far as we can tell," Panthro said, "You got into a fight and were knocked out."
"Do you remember anything, Ben?" Wily Kay asked.
"The guy who fought me said something about 'making an example outta me." Ben-Gali tried to remember more, but his mind was foggy.
    "Anything else?" Panthro asked.
    "No, I don't think....yeah! Yeah, I do remember something!"
"What?" Panthro and Kat said together.
"He had something hooked up to the Master Controls." Ben-Gali pointed at the Motor Pool's only Computer station. Panthro got up and turned to the station on. The computer generated picture of a Gauntlet was thrown up onto the screen. A deep foreboding voice began to speak.
"You Thundercats are not fit to rule Thundera. We want the control of Thundera." A loud ping sounded from the computer. Panthro looked at the computer displays with shocked disbelief.
"Our Databanks have been deleted!" Panthro looked like he just saw the un-sinkable ship sink.
"Call Lion-O; whoever did this is gonna pay," Ben-Gali said grimly.
